Zillow 3D Home tours and floor plans

A 3D tour is the part of a listing that lets a buyer walk the house at eleven at night from a hotel room in Chicago. They click through the front door, turn around in the kitchen, look up at the ceiling height, and decide whether the floor plan works before anyone books a showing. That filtering is the point. The showings you do get are with people who already know the layout and still want to come.

What you get

The tour is captured on the same visit as the photos. Every room is scanned, the rooms are stitched into a walkthrough you can move through, and an interactive floor plan is generated from the same capture, with room dimensions and a plan view a buyer can click to jump around the house.

It publishes straight to the Zillow listing, which matters more than it sounds. Most Broward buyers start on Zillow, and a listing with a 3D Home Tour gets a badge and a dedicated tab. You also get a link you can drop into the MLS, your own site, an email blast or a social post.

What it costs

The tour is not a separate line item. It comes inside the Complete package at $300, alongside HDR photography, drone photography, the floor plan and the marketing kit. Signature at $700 includes it too. Every one of those prices covers a property up to 2,500 sq ft, and larger homes step up by size. The pricing page has the size table and a calculator that gives you the exact number for your square footage.

If you only want photos, Essential at $175 is the package to look at instead. If you want the tour and a filmed property video, that is Signature.

Zillow 3D or Matterport

Both build a walkthrough, and they suit different jobs.

Zillow 3D publishes onto the Zillow listing itself, comes with an interactive floor plan, and is the version most residential buyers will actually open. There is no monthly hosting fee attached to it.

Matterport produces a heavier, more precisely measured model, with measurement tools and a dollhouse view. That is genuinely better for commercial space, new construction and anything where somebody needs to take dimensions off the model. It also costs more to produce and usually carries a hosting subscription.

For a normal residential listing in Broward County, the Zillow tour does the job most agents need, and it comes inside a package rather than on top of one.

How long it adds to the shoot

Roughly twenty minutes. The capture happens while I am already at the property, so there is no second appointment and no second time you need to get the seller out of the house. The tour and the floor plan are delivered with the photos, the next day.

Getting the house ready

Same as for photos: lights on, blinds open, surfaces clear. Two extras that matter specifically for a 3D tour. Interior doors should be open so the walkthrough flows from room to room, and anything you do not want scanned should be put away, because the tour captures everything in the room rather than a chosen frame.
